Welcome to
Sisters in Crime Upstate South Carolina!

Sisters in Crime is the premier crime writing association, focused on equity and inclusion in the crime writing and publishing industry. We are open to everyone (not just women, and regardless of publishing status). Our 4500+ members include writers, readers, booksellers, and librarians. You can find out more about the national association here: https://www.sistersincrime.org.

Our Upstate, SC group is over 25 years old! We are based in Greenville, South Carolina, but our members are from all over the United States, and Canada.

Here’s What You Need to Know…

  • We meet online on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. EDT, via Zoom. An invitation to receive your meeting link goes out every month through our newsletter. You can subscribe to that here
  • In addition to our online meetings, we also have several in-person meetings each year. You’ll find event schedules on our Home page, as well as the newsletter.
  • Each meeting has a great speaker. Our focus is on writing craft and industry experts to support the writing and publishing process. And we’re always happy to hear ideas from our members, so get in touch.
  • Our meetings are recorded, and paid chapter members have private access to go back and watch at their leisure.
  • We support other Sisters in Crime chapters, so our newsletter always includes events from other chapters to support our members career goals.
  • You can find us on both Facebook and Instagram. We bring you fun writing related information and chapter updates.
  • We love our readers, so we’ve designed a page just for our crime and mystery readers coming in fall 2023. We hope you’ll join the fun there, too.
  • Our member dues are only $15 (Chapter members should be members of the National Sisters in Crime organization.)

But you don’t have to be a member to come see what we are all about. Our monthly online meetings are free to the public, and we’re looking forward to seeing you there.

If you have any questions, you can always email us with comments and ideas at [email protected]

See you there!
